Concert Bands
Wind Ensemble
Wind Ensemble is only open to advanced students in grades 10-12 and interested students are encouraged to audition for this course. This is a highly competitive ensemble comprised of mostly juniors and seniors. This course includes the study and performance of music at a collegiate level selected to challenge the technical skill and musicianship of the group. Students will have multiple opportunities for performance in a variety of settings and venues, including LCRMEA. Wind Ensemble combines with Chamber Orchestra at the end of the year to create the Skyview Philharmonic.
Symphonic Band
This class is open to students in grades 10-12. Symphonic Band is designed to enhance all aspects of performance and focuses on the development of instrumental music skills, musical performance, and understanding of music theory. Students will perform at LCRMEA and will have the opportunity to perform in small ensembles. They will benefit from additional coaches and clinicians and they are expected to participate in the fall football season in the Pep Band in addition to concert performances.
Concert Band
This class is a Freshman specific group but is open to students of all levels. Concert Band is designed to enhance all aspects of performance and focuses on the development of instrumental music skills, musical performance, and understanding of music theory. Concert Band is designed to create a "cohort" feeling as students progress through high school. Students will perform at LCRMEA and will have the opportunity to perform in small ensembles. They will benefit from additional coaches and clinicians and they are expected to participate in the fall football season in the Pep Band in addition to concert performances.
